The 6 series distro's didn't have the C++ compiler
compatibility foulup or the botched version of Mesa
(complete with incorrect version numbers to fool
the unwary).

IMHO, RedHat 7.x has so many problems that I avoid
it like the plague.  Go with SuSE 7.x or Debian or
something. Mandrake has the same set of problems as
RedHat.
