Anyone now how to tell if BGP has been set up correctly?
I have two T1's... one through XO and one through Quest.
They are supposed to both being doing BGP for my class C - 63.145.47.x.
Quest and XO say that the BGP stuff is setup correctly, but I'm not 100%
sure that it is. How can I tell for sure? Is there a way to do a BGP query
for a ip address?
I've tested it and I know that if I unplug one T1, the traffic all comes in on the
other. That part works fine.
The problem is that late this afternoon, XO started having routing problems so
we unplugged the XO T1. Traffic came in on the QUEST T1 ok, but sometimes
from several external sites, we could do a traceroute and see that XO tried to
take of the routing and it was failing becuase we had the T1 powered off. If the
XO T1 was down, they never should have advertised a BGP route for our
class C.
So... I need to know how to tell for sure.
Thanks - jack
