Something I've used in the past is a package called poptop. It's development seems to have all but stopped but it may do exactly what you need. You can find it at http://poptop.lineo.com/. This product is an arse whip to setup taking a lot of time to configure and get all the parts working together properly esp if you want to allow file sharing over it with some sense of security. Something else you might look at is http://www.freshmeat.net/ just go there and search for VPN and you should receive several options worth looking into. Any of the options you find currently will require you understand a lot about networking so beware if this is for a client this may be one of those times were if you don't know were to find it you might be better off finding someone you can sub contract to do it and bring you up to speed at the same time.

I have a client that has an NT network and wants to enable access to shares over the Internet. What is the best route for both performance and security, ie, VPN, Samba, etc.
Please advise
