But even if you do buy a winmodem on accident (like me), there are some 
experimental drivers available that will work.  I used one quite 
successfully up until I got my DSL.  Its been close to a year now, so 
the quality has most likely gone up.  If you want the link to the 
winmodem site, email me privately, and I'll dig up the link for the site.
