make sure that the username and password (the creditials) match on both the
windows box and the Linux box. With Windows 9x/ME, one does not get
prompted for a username. The username and password combo that is sent to
the samba server is the one used when you logged into the Windows
environment.
Of course this assumes that you have created an smbuser (or unix/smbuser
combo) on the samba box.....by whatever means you used. (smbadduser ? or
some other automated utility)
