I use the same setup on one of my machines and here's how i did it (YMMV)

Maxtor 20 gig HD   i use maxblast to setup C: (1 gig) then the rest on D:
Then install windows(reboot 20 times) then i install mandrake,let it shrink 
D: down to what size i need (5 gig) and then Mandrake will let you create the 
rest ie: swap,root,boot,home.  Hope this helps
