This is correct behavior.  readproctitle fills in the dots with the most 
recent output from svscan's errors, so you can see with a ps awwux some 
information about why stuff svscan is trying to start doesn't work.

The dots you see are the placeholder before the errors are popped into 
place.  In short ... there's no error to report.

This is Dr. Bernstein nearly at his most inscrutable.

Repeat slowly:  If it's all dots, there is no problem.  =)

The ps awx you posted looks good.
