  I have integrated ADS and LDAP without any trouble at all.
  Since ADS is LDAP V3 and V2 compliant there was never  problem.

Kevin, congratulations on your discovery of this "New OS" and welcome to 
the NTLUG list. I hope your experiences with Linux are all positive ones 
and I think that by your asking for direction up front, they will be.

I have integrated Linux into Win2K ADS networks before with no trouble 
at all. The services that Linux provides are mostly non-invasive and 
should co-exist cleanly in your network. The one application you need to 
be careful with is Samba as it CAN be configured to try assuming a PDC 
role, which can confuse other DC's. For the most part, Linux's DNS, Web 
or E-Mail services will only be utilized if those addresses are 
advertised through DNS or if workstations are configured to access them. 
Making the two systems talk back and forth is a little trickier of 
course. One configuration that I have heard of but not tried personally 
yet is integrating ADS and LDAP on a Linux or UNIX platform for 
hetrogenous directory services. I know that this is supposed to work, 
maybe someone else here has done it?
