[NTLUG:Discuss] Sound issues

I am having a problem with my sound.  I am running RH 7.2 w/ a SB 512 
sound card.  There are 4 ports on the sound card 2 of which will allow 
you to plug speakers into.  When I use the XMMS player for MP3's and ogg's 
I have to plug my speakers into the first one.  When I play CD's I have to 
plug it into the second one.  What is causing this.  I have just started 
w/ the sound stuff.  It's never really botherd me until I started 
wanting to play mp3's.  Before I would just play cd's and leave the jack 
in the second plug.  Has anybody else experinced this?  Does anybody have 
any Idea on the problem?
