- I used to have mail.parasailworkshop.com on the same server
- as mail.jammconsulting.com (204.130.252.205).
-
- I moved it to a new server (66.181.172.254). I updated
- the DNS entries to make the new machine the mail
- recipient for the parasailworkshop domain.
-
- I also removed the local-host-names entry for mail.parasailworkshop.com
- and the virtual use entry on the mail.jammconsulting.com server.
-
- But, when I try to send an email thru mail.jammconsulting.com,
- it does not send it to the correct machine. It still
- thinks it is local. Here is the error message I get back:
- 553 5.3.5 mail.parasailworkshop.com. config error: mail loops back to me (MX
- problem?)
- 554 5.3.5 Local configuration error
-
- I made the DNS changes about 2 days ago, so the change
- should have propagated by now.

Did you remember to update the SOA on
parasailworkshop.com?

From digging around in DNS, it appears that
mail.jammconsulting.com might also be running an authoritative
name server for both zones (even though it's not referenced in
the roots, you do have dns3.jammconsulting.com pointed at mail's
address.)

If you forgot to update the SOA, then mail's name server
probably beleives it still has correct information.

FYI: sendmail looks like it's doing the right thing.
