I can only recommend the big players out there... but those are expensive as
hell.
Have you considered trying Peachtree for Windows and running it under Wine?

I'm in the market for Book keeping suite to keep track of contracts,
mileage, invoices, etc.
My book keeper doesn't care what OS it's on as long as it's not Windows. I,
of course, would prefer
Linux... Can any of you recommend or give me some names that might be
similar to Quicken or Quick Books?
