[NTLUG:Discuss] Maximum memory

Please bear with me, I'm forced to use a very old 
kernel.....

Does anyone remember if there is a limit on the
maximum amount of memory that RedHat 5.2 (3.0.36 kernel)
can make use of?  It looks like the number is 768MB.
Every time I try to go above that number the kernel 
can't find *any* memory.  I don't think this is a 
problem with my hardware as the BIOS can see 1GB,
but unless I limit memory in lilo.conf I can't boot.
