I also would like to run on older hardware. I don't know what Paul
requires in the way of function. I would like to run ethereal on old
laptops. Kind of a LAN analyzer on the cheap.

So, it doesn't need to run a fancy gui. Just needs to run X reasonably
well.

What window manager would work?
