And it lives on the same net as the mail server (192.168.x.x.)?  What's
serving your DHCP?  I ask simply because my el cheapo routers build a
MAC table, and 99.99999% of the time, assign the same IP to the same
machine, regardless of what else gets plugged in, so adding a hosts
entry won't screw up the works except for very rarely.
