That must be what it was.  The mount command SHOULD have been 'mount
/dev/md0 /mnt'  and I think it was that.  Come to think of it, for some
reason I have to specify the filesystem for /dev/md0 otherwise it returns a
'type ntfs not supported' error.  So that would mean that the mount failed
and it got copied to root.
