Have you tried Open Office 1.0.1 which just came out? I installed it
and was surprised that this time, it actually installed under
/usr/local/OpenOffice.org1.0, and when each user runs setup, it only
installs the components needed for each user in their home directory,
but leaves the programs under the /usr/local/OpenOffice.org1.0
directory. So far, it Seems to work well for me.
