[NTLUG:Discuss] Alternative to MS Excel and MS-Access

Make sure that when you run setup as root, you use
./setup -net

Then, each user needs to run /usr/local/OpenOffice.org1.0/setup
and do the WorkStation installation.

This will allow users to share the installation and only install a few
MB of files in their home directories.
