[NTLUG:Discuss] Ftape and BIOS settings?

Hey all,
  I'm having problems getting an HP floppy tape drive working with ftape on
a RedHat 7.1 stock kernel.
Ftape loads successfully using modprobe ftape but it remains unused.
When I unload it using modprobe -r ftape it gives this error:

ftape: Device or resourse buisy

This is the same error I got when doing the same thing with parport_pc when
PnP OS was turned on.
Anyone know if something in BIOS needs to be set to let this tape drive work
on the floppy controler?
