First admitting that I could be wrong on any or all points, I shall none
the less report what I have found so far - for one thing, right now
Lindows is being marketed only through integrators. Lindows says a
"General Release" is on the way, but have not announced an ETA as yet.

WalMart is selling machine integrated by Mocrotel PC.
(1) WalMart is offering (online only - not in stores) 3 boxes with
Lindows, from $299 to $599, sans monitor.
     (a) From a Duron 850MHz, 128 memory, 10GB hard drive, CD-ROM,
eithernet, 56k-V.92 modem, to an Intel P4 1.8MHz, 256 memory, 40GB hard
drive, CD-RW, eithernet, 56k-v.92.modem
(2) Theory says WalMart also sell boxes with Mandrake, but I couldn't
find them.

Lindows is looking for "Insiders"
(1) Buy a preloaded machine, pay $99 subscription fee, and promise to
give them feed back - supposed to get you a years worth of "free" stuff,
and all the early release stuff, plus inside information and support.

I did "subscrib" to some Lindows email lists, asking them when will the
general release be available and what is their pricing structure going
to be.

So, for me that answers all my questions so far - I was just thinking of
looking at Lindows to see what I thought of it, but it remains to be
seen if I actually do.
