[NTLUG:Discuss] what is the problem?

It's been a while since I've actually cabled a network, but iirc, when
connecting like devices (PC to PC, switch to switch, router to router,
etc.) you have to use a crossover cable, not a straight=through that you
would use to connect a PC to a switch. Do you have a crossover cable?
If so, use that to connect the switches to each other (uplinks).
