Well, first I would verify the wire is good - check the wiring is it store bought, or custom made - if its custom made is it wired to TIA586 (a or b) standard? You say an internet problem, but it looks like you are only having a problem between switches. Do all these machines get a public address or is there some router/firewall in between? Can any machine connected to any switch get access to the internet?
You need to provide a little bit more info on what works, and what doesn't work - but cabling it usually the problem and a good first place to start.
