First of all, thanks Soooooooooo much for responding. I was
beginning to get lonely talking to the mysql daemon :-)
SuSE 8.0 has glibc, version 2.2.5-38. I don't speak 'C,' so
about all I can do is report what I see in YAST. I have the
main glibc library, glibc-devel, and glibc-locale installed,
all 2.2.5-38.
