I am not sure what type of solutions you are looking for, but
if you are trying to generate reports, you might try one of
these solutions:

If you want more of a reporting tool, you might look at
ReportMill. It is very powerful and does more than is
required from a simple reporting tool. I am impressed
with it.

It might not be exactly what you are looking for, but FOP
is a great way to generate PDF's. It is an interesting tool.
It might be a bit difficult, but it is open source.

Subject: [NTLUG:Discuss] pdf in Linux

(My apologies to admin - earlier I attempted to post a similar message
to this, but sent it to the admin list by error - my bad - I say similar
because I hope this message is a little more focused than the original)

(1) I run Linux (Red Hat 6.2, 7.2, and 7.3) and most of the folks I work
with are on some form of MS or MAC.
(2) StarOffice, text email, and the occasional HTML, answer for most of
my needs in documents that these and other non-Linux folks can view with
ease and accuracy.
(3) There are times when it would seem that maybe producing files in pdf
would be the format of choice - but Adobe Acrobat doesn't seem to be
available on Linux, except as the Reader.

So, any thought or suggestions would be welcome.
Thanks.
