Is there a known issue with using a sendmail server to send mail to other
internet users where the addressee's email name contains a 'dot'?

For some reason, emails sent from my bob at example.org account to
john.doe at example.com work fine, while email to jane.doe at example.net seem to
fail.

Is there a problem with periods?
