Not necessarily. You could bind multiple addresses to the nic so that the
cutover would be seemless. (Providing that SWBell can do that.)
You can also change the expire time on your DNS records to five
minutes....run that for a day....then when you do the cut-over you only have
to wait five minutes for the change to propogate out to the internet. Just
barely enough time to reboot the server, run to the restroom, and come
back to test changes. (but once again, SWBell will have to be willing to
change DNS record time out settings.)
I feel for you man...I really do.
