Well, just for future reference...check out 
http://opensource.adaptec.com/ ;)  Not all the latest linux/FBSD 
stuff makes it there, but I see StorageManager for ATA 2400A 
RAID controller.  StorageManager contains dptutil and raidutil; 
you can just install the rpm with the --nodeps option and ignore 
the X11 binaries.
