[NTLUG:Discuss] RE: office applications

I use openoffice at home. I am playing around with witting a novel, so i use
it extensively for word processing. my results are:

spell check: catches that the words are wrong, but never suggests the right
way. 
grammer check: is there one?

stability: rock solid on most file formats. Have had some strange crashes
with certain older ms word docs.
compatibility: see stability. and I have had some word documents that would
not crash but also would not open. I believe these were word 2.0 documents.
Also, for business use, documents that make extensive us of word tables have
had some serious problems. 


That's all i can think of for now, other than of course finally getting a
decent font on my gnome 2 desktop....
