Subject: motivating shady clients to payup

hi all,
I've got a gig that has me doing some rather interesting work for
some
rather unsavory types...
I'll preface by say that I'm not doing anything illegal and the product
I
produce will not be used for illegal purposes.
My partners and I are simply concerned with getting payed in a
timely
manner.
The work intales placing a box (probably RedHat or Mandrake) infront of
a
web server to monitor
and grafically represent (using Apache) bandwidth usage based on IP
(gathered with ntop). The system will, based on thresholds I set,
notify
the client when a client uses to much bandwidth.... Anyhow, I've
decided to do the following to help our clients decide to pay soon after
delivery.

1. no password or usernames will be revealed to the clients until
payment
in full is recieved.
I hope this will delay local breakin's.

3. no floppy drive or CDRom access and no floppy or CDrom booting.

4. passworded BIOS.

5. all servers other then Apache and ssh will be diabled.

2. a combination of "trial-period" safe guards will do the following,
10
days after activation.
       -disable grafical representation of data.
       -disable notification.
-completely disable network access 14 days after activation.

All of this will be disclosed to the client. I'd like input from you
all
regarding this plan....

-Jeremy
