His point was, why would someone pay you to write scripts if you don't
understand simple commands like the 'cp' command noted, and making the
point that it is not very professional for a 'professional' to not know
this...

Wanna flame, do it off list, either way this is getting off topic.  If
you don't trust someone you are doing business with, get a contract, you
don't trust a contract, don't do business with them.
