I have installed RH7.3 on a couple of systems now, two of which have a
Microsoft Optical USB mouse. No problems noticed. One system is an IBM
Netvista all-in-one with A PIII-667MHz and an Intellimouse Explorer. The
other system is a DELL Latitude C800 PIII-850MHz and an Intellimouse Optical
USB.
On the laptop, if the mouse is not plugged in while the system is booting,
Kudzu will notice and X will not start. To fix this, I 'telinit 3', plug in
the mouse, 'telinit 5'. I know I could just restart X, but I like this way.

Which Mouse are you using? Is it plugged in while the system is booting?
Exactly where is the post-install hanging? What are the video?
Motherboard? How much RAM?
Rick.
