[NTLUG:Discuss] another question on ssh and mobility

Sorry - this is a part MS and a part UNIX/Linux
The intended client machine is MS, and the intended host is UNIX/Linux.
(intended means this is still in the test stage).
Curious thing, this.
PuTTY run from a CD on an MS computer, the computer remembers the key,
and any connection setup that you might have saved.
Reboot, or power cycle, and the result is the same.
I found a file called putty.rnd that because of access time I thought
might be the answer. It can be deleted and it will return the next
PuTTY is run. But even then the computer remembers both the key and the
setup.
Questions:
(1) Does anyone know where it might be putting this information?
(2) Assuming the computer is pretty much public access, what are the
security risk?
Thanks in advance for any help you may offer.
