[NTLUG:Discuss] Configuring emailed reports

I have a small server that connects my home [office] network to my
DSL.  The server provides a firewall, Apache, squid, & squidGuard, and
gives everyone access to a large HD via Samba.  None of the services
are accessible from outside of the firewall.  I do not host my own
email; all of my email accounts use smtp and pop3 servers that are
outside of my network.

I would like to configure the server so that system-generated email
uses the smtp of an external email account, instead of holding it,
waiting for me to remember to check my "server mail". Would that
be difficult to set up? Could someone give me a couple of sentences
of what needs to be done?
