Hi Chris,
Jabber has the ability to tunnel all popular messaging protocols
(yahoo/msn/aim/icq) using add on transports. Basically, you subscribe
to your favorite IM accounts through Jabber, and the Jabber server acts
as gateway to the IM world. It's really nice from a corporate
standpoint, in that you have the ability to manage and centralize all IM
activity.
Gaim doesn't have the ability to manage those separate IM accounts.
Gabber is great, tho it was designed using old libs from old
distributions and doesn't compile on RedHat 8. With a little effort I
should be able to get it to work, since it appears no other tool is
readily available :-)
Thanks,
Ryan
