I've tried mondo and I think mkcdrec is much closer to being production
ready.  I have tested mkcdrec with a md as a part of an LVM combined
with regular paritions and everything restored correctly... I did have
to make a couple of tweaks to the restore routine (shell script)...
nothing major (that was about 5 months ago... probably has improved
since then).
