People may recall a talk given by Matthew R. Pavlovich in 2000
(see NTLUG calendar page). Mr. Pavlovich, along with many others
who are trying to bring DVD related software to Linux are some
of the benefactors of the work that the EFF is doing.
The EFF also strives to protect things that I consider
vile and detestable (so as to be amoral in purpose), however,
they are also fighting bad laws which won't allow you to play
DVDs on Linux, privacy issues, etc.
I encourage you to look into the EFF, while at the same time,
you need to realize that like the ACLU, the EFF is likely
to support some things that you might not agree with.
