A LinuxCentral search for SPARC lists "Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 (Sparc)".
Is 3.0 the current Debian release?

http://www.linuxiso.org/distro.php?distro=2  has a SuSE release for
Sparc.  It's
appears to be version 7.3 rather than 8.1 though.

Sorry my personal experience isn't timely.  I loved running Linux on my
Ultra.
That was one of my favorite perks of that job.  Make sure you have
enough cooling
where ever you install it.  That's far too nice a box to lose to
"thermal stress".

I'm jealous!
