How cute to hear them called normal - I assume you mean IDE, EIDE, or
something along those lines, with the implication that they are some
sort of standard?
The two primary differences are (a) in how they are attached to the
motherboard, and therefore what kind of controller they have, and (b)
cost - IDE is normally much cheaper. After that there are all sorts of
particulars, pros and cons.
