My video card is having problems. It is a Voodoo 3 Video Card using SUSE 8.1
Professional Linux. Installation goes O.K. until it is complete, boots
Linux, and then the black screen of death. The View Mate monitor may be
being put into a stand=by mode.

SuSE installation has recognized the card properly. The driver furnished by
the installation program is named 'tdfx'. The 3-d option and non-3-d option
both have been tried.

Installation itself runs with great animated graphics. The 'safe boot' text
mode --no graphics running with Linux-- works fine.

Red Hat 7.2 can do Linux graphics fine with the card.

Bill Gates has a graphics display with (great) and without (no so good) the
Windows Voodoo driver that came with the card.

Has anyone had Linux (any variety) problems which bewitch a Voodoo card?

How did you resolve them?

Do you know where (the directory) SuSE video driver(s) might reside in their
Linux OS?
