[NTLUG:Discuss] Linux on old machines

I work for a non-profit. We were recently donated some six-year-old 
machines with 16MB and P-120/133 processors. They won't be used 
for much more than web browsing and checking web-based e-mail.

What's the best thing to install on them? The newer versions of Linux 
don't seem to be as usable with old hardware as they used to be. Hard 
drives are about 1GB.
