As it says in #3 there, you must have have a DGL server (in the sense that you
have an X server locally) to do that. This is not something I've ever tried
to do (I had SGI's on my desk some years back), but unless you can find a DGL
server for Linux, you'll never make it work.
Options:
1. Try to find a DGL server for Linux.
2. Get a small IRIX machine to sit on your desk to run that app. (and the
flight simulator :-)
3. Change apps, say to "xosview", which should run on IRIX too and does use
the X protocol.
