Try:  find ~USER/.netscape -type f -print | xargs grep OLD_USER

That should find all the ocurrances of the old name in the Netscape dir; edit 
those files to change the old user name to the new user name.

BTW, if you have no ~USER/.netscape, make it ~USER/.mozilla.  It's been awhile 
since I've used NS v4.x, so I may not remember the directory correctly.  You 
can always verify the dir by looking in Edit->Preferences, and somewhere in 
there will be the dir name it uses (probably in the mail prefs, you should 
just the part that comes after the home dir).
