I use RedHat and have for quite a while. I understand why a lot of
people dislike it and do not want to get into any pissing contest about
whose distro is better. As far as problems, most are software
configuration issues or changes (from previous versions) I am not used
to. Most are easy to fix or just don't matter to me. I have it
installed on 4 boxes right now and a server running 7.3 and overall I am
happy with it. The hardware detection works well. I actually took a
hard drive out of one machine last night, threw it into a new machine
and decided to boot into RH8 without a reinstall and it noticed all the
hardware differences, removed all the old setting and configured
everything for the new hardware and was up and running without reinstall
in less than 10 minutes.
