Another utility/program/environment that does this Cygwin.  I run it on my 
Win95 box at work and on my WinXP box at home.

Works real nice, has what amounts to a package manager so you can decide what 
to install when, and to an extremem novice/newbie everything that I do on Linux 
(minus X-Windows) works the same under Cygwin.
