I've seen a couple of post about software raid over the last 
few days. Just wanted to throw in my 2 cents....

I used to be a big fan of Software Raid. I did run into a 
flow though that has soured me on the idea. 

I had 2 drives that were mirrored. I had a very large 
web log that ended up ( somehow ) corrupting the e2fs 
partition. The mirrored drives mirrored the corruption. 
I split the drives and neither one could be e2fscked 
back to normal. 

Just wanted to mention that.
