For CD burning I have had the most luck and most flexibility with Gnome
Toaster (/usr/bin/gtoaster in RH). It has all the drag and drop
features that you are talking about. The only feature that I have
wanted but have't seen or figured out in Gnome Toaster is saving an
ISO image, other than that its a very nice utility that has gotten
better with each release.
As far as the SCSI compatiblity layer, while I know it exists, I have
never with any RH distro I have used ever had to install it
specifically, its just always been there.
Gnome Toaster has been my burning app of choice, I have tried X-CD-Roast
but it seems to be too difficult to do some things.
