Oh, one other thing.  If your home directory is mounted from a file
server, say a NetApp, you could go into your snapshots directory and
grab the needed info. depending on how often the snapshots are rotated. 
But that's assuming this is in an enterprise environment where the money
exists to purchase a NetApp (or something similar).
