do a google search for favicon.ico. This is the 'thing' that
your seeing. Browers ( that support this ) request a favicon.ico
icon. If it exist, it is downloaded and used in a couple of
different spots on your browser.

I tried to add a icon to my sites, but I don't have the
graphics design ability to make a good looking icon.
