Hmm...that should be just fine. Both should be treated as the core device.
Have you tried specifying IMPS/2 as the protocol for both mice? It
shouldn't get confused, but maybe it is...
You might also take a look at /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/doc/README.mouse and see
if it is enlightening based on your brand of scrolly-mouse. I love
scrolly-mice...they're addictive.
I personally use a Logitech wireless optical mouse. Goes through batteries
pretty fast, since it runs the LED off of the batteries, but I can handle
that. I love it. Now if only I could find a really superior keyboard.
I'm using an M$ Natural Internet Keyboard Pro thing (I don't like M$, but
they do occasionally come out with some pretty darn good input devices).
I've done the modmap bit to try and get all the extra buttons working, but
so far I haven't gotten KDE to recognize them. I'd love to hit the "Email"
button and have it launch Evolution. And I'd like to use the transport
controls to control Xmms or Mplayer or something. The web-browsing buttons
have been pretty much obsoleted by Opera's mouse gestures...another thing
that is completely addictive. If anyone knows how to get KDE3 to use my
extra keyboard buttons, I'd appreciate a pointer...
