Can you elaborate on the insmod steps? Like what does that mean and where would i find the prism2_cs/p80211 files?

I had the same issues with the PCI version of the card I ended up being forced to download and instlal on my own making the appropriate choices. Don't forget when you are done to insmod p80211 and insmod prism2_cs or insmod prism2_plx as needed.

I got them from here: http://prism2.unixguru.raleigh.nc.us/rh80/index.html

I believe you need a Base package, a Module package, and an Interface package.

Hope you have better luck than I am having

Subject: [NTLUG:Discuss] LinkSys WPC11 wireless card install help

      Hi guys.

I need some help installing my Linksys WPC11 wireless card onto my HP zt1180 laptop.

I have installed, via RPM, the following packages:

      kernel-wlan-ng ---- version 0.1.15-6

      kernel-wlan-ng-modules-rh80.24 ---- version 0.1.15-6

      kernel-wlan-ng-pcmcia ---- version 0.1.15-6

Nothing happens. There isn't even a light on the PCMCIA adapter! Keep in mind that this adapter has worked flawlessly under Win2k and WinXP so I am pretty sure that the adapter is not malfunctioning.

I've run "/sbin/lsmod" but there is no pcmcia adapter nor pcmcia service listed.

Whenever I try to "/sbin/cardctrl/ident" the following message is returned: "no pcmcia driver in /proc/devices"

I think the problem is that my PCMCIA card/slot is not being recognized. I think the drivers/software is set up correctly. I have read lots of install info on the 'NET and they always talk of removing and re-inserting the PCMCIA card and hearing beeps. I never hear any beeps.

      Can anyone help me?

      Thanks,

      Frank
