[NTLUG:Discuss] no more reiserfs

Greg,
You might want to look into SGI's open source XFS file system. I too had
some Reiser partitions on a disk, including my root dir., and lost
everything. XFS is journalling and in my experience at least, more
"stable" than Reiser. You'll need to patch your kernel and recompile it
to add XFS partitions. I don't know if there are plans to incorporate
the XFS file system into the 2.6 kernel, but you'll need to apply SGI's
patch to the 2.4 kernel source.
See SGI's web site for more info.
Caveat lector: I am by no means a file system expert. I only relate what
works for me. It is *not* my intention to start nor will I be drawn into
a flame war about file systems. :-)
